What are Selection Days?

Selection Days are part of the Shell StartUp Engine Singapore programme. The 2-day sessions are designed to enable selection of start-ups with innovative solutions and potential to accelerate the transition to a net-zero emissions world to join SSE. During Selection Days, 15 chosen start-ups which applied for SSE are invited to pitch to an audience from Shell and partners, followed by a segment of Q&A. Your feedback and advice will be critical in helping the Selection Panel select the next cohort for the 2021 programme. The selection panel will make the final decision and all participants will be notified of the outcome.

How do I join the Selection Days sessions?

You should have received a calendar invite to join Selection Days. Within the invite, there should be a Microsoft Teams link. Simply click on the  link, and you will be able to join via the Microsoft Teams app installed on your computer or via the browser version (no download required). If you’re joining as part of the audience or selection panel, you should can also provide your rating for the start-ups which presented via the “Rate Start-ups” button on this website’s top right corner.

What should I do if I have technical issues?

Simply email contact@startupbootcamp.com.au and we will look at fixing this for you.

When are the Selection Days?

They will take place on Tuesday 31st August and Thursday 2nd September 2021. All times are SGT:

  • Session 1: Tuesday 31st August - 10.00am to 12.30pm
  • Session 2: Thursday 2nd September - 9.00am to 11.30am

In order to meet the majority/all of the startups, we encourage you to join both Selection Days sessions if you are available.

How do I access the Start-up Rating form?

Prior to Selection Days, you will have been emailed a password to access the start-up rating form. Only the Selection Panel, mentors and audience will have access to the start-up rating form.

What’s the next step after Selection Day?

If you’re a start-up, you will be notified of the outcome within a few days. Feedback on your start-up will also be shared with you to help your start-up improve.   If you’re a mentor of the programme, you will be contacted by Startupbootcamp on the next steps.   If you will like to get in touch with the start-ups or have specific questions, please email beth@startupbootcamp.com.au

What is the format of the session?

Each startup will pitch, followed by approximately 13 minutes of questions from the Selection Panel and audience present. A Startupbootcamp member will act as a host, and relay questions received from the group.

After each startup pitch and round of questions, the Selection Panel and the audience will rate and provide feedback to startups via an anonymous feedback form found on this microsite.
